Winifred Currie Boots, 84, of Denton, Texas, formerly of Mount Jackson, passed away Tuesday, April 16, 2013. She was born Oct. 11, 1928, in New Castle to Harold and Ruth Currie. She married Donald A. Boots on May 28, 1946, in New Castle. Her funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, April 19, 2013, in the Chapel of Denton Bible Church, Denton, Texas, with burial at Roselawn Memorial Park in Denton. Winnie graduated from Shenango High School. She received a licensed vocational nursing degree from Texas Woman's University in Denton and worked as admitting nurse at Denton's Westgate Hospital. She was a trustee emeritus of the board of directors of the Studebaker Family National Association. Winnie and Don were active in many church activities and Winnie faithfully supported her husband in his lay ministry. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Howard, Norman and Billie Currie; and sisters, Betty Deemer and June Servick. She is survived by her husband; sons, Dennis and wife, Marilyn, of Denton and Dick and wife, JoAnn, of Paris, Texas; grandchildren, David, Mark and Andy Boots and Kathryn Porter; four great-grandchildren; and sisters, Gerry Garing of Evans City and Louise Burr of Zelienople.
